Athletic Accomplishments

Why should you know about Christine Sinclair? Because she is the world's all-time leading scorer. Not Cristiano Ronaldo, not Pelé. Christine fucking Sinclair. It really doesn't get much simpler than that. In addition to her 186 goals (and counting), the Canadian captain also has 296 international caps, the most of any active player. She's been awarded Canada's Player of the Year 14 times. She's a beast. And she's still going.

Sinclair has scored in all 5 of the World Cup tournaments she's played in. She's also a 4-time champion in professional women's soccer leagues, including twice as captain of the Portland Thorns (2013 and 2017).

Sinclair is shy and reserved with the media. She is humble and doesn't love the attention that comes with being labeled "the best in the world." How adorably Canadian is that?

But on the pitch, Sinclair is far from shy. She's the central hero in the story, the most dominant player on Canada's national team, known and feared for her speed, her strength, and her smarts. She's the whole damn package. As the world's all-time leading goal scorer, you always have to know where she is on the field because she will turn and burn you faster than you can say "sorry, eh?" But Sinclair is not just a cherry-picking goal-hanger. Teammates rave about her work rate and for her playmaking ability, which make everyone on the field better. Our hero is also known for scoring in the big games, when her team needs her the most. And though Canada has yet to win the big one, she has 4 professional soccer titles that speak to her hero status.
